Beginning the week of February 17, 2021, associates from Scott Land and Lease, the land agent for the Drumheller Resiliency and Flood Mitigation Office, will start reaching out to landowners whose land will be directly affected based on our early berm designs.
It’s important that our land agents connect with directly impacted landowners (those who we will be looking to purchase land from) prior to making the full designs public. These meetings are designed to allow direct and confidential conversations with impacted landowners first and foremost. Please note, the land agents will not be participating in group meetings at this time.
After these meetings are complete, we will begin to have discussions with landowners adjacent to new construction, but who we do not need to purchase property from ie. portions of Newcastle, Midland, Nacmine and Willow Estates. These will likely begin in early March. Cambria and Lehigh will be contacted in Fall 2021, as we still need to complete further analysis.
Finally, we will meet with neighbourhoods at the end of March, beginning of April, to discuss the overall berm alignment for their area.
We ask for residents’ patience as we work our way through the lists. We anticipate this to take a couple of weeks to schedule the meetings, and another two weeks to go through the site visits. We understand your neighbours may have information about their properties before you, please rest assured our team is working hard to get the information out to directly impacted landowners as soon as possible.
